There are FREE apps that can remove picture background. All you do is install them on your your phone.
If you are an android user, open your app store and search: remove background. You will see so many of them, but you will need to be sure of the one to install.

You may have to try different apps to see how they work and how user-friendly they are. The one that does not suit your desire, uninstall and try another.
Fir iPhone users, one of the aps to use is Pixelcut. The app is user friendly. Background in images are removed by just swiping your finger over a line.

Remove Picture Background Online
To remove picture background on the internet, using a browser, go to remove.bg. On the platform, click on upload image and then locate the picture want to remove its background in your phone storage.
This is just a simple way of removing background.
However, if the background is too crowded with distractions, it will be difficult for proper removal of the background.
Also, when you use this picture background removal method, it lowers the quality of the image.
The same thing happens to almost all other means of removing picture background.
But when people view the picture on a phone, the lowered quality hardly shows.
How To Replace Picture Background
To replace background in your picture or any other picture. You can use Canva or select from the stock images in the app you removed the background with.
I like to use Canva because it has more images to choose from.
On Canva, open the app and then select the image size you want to use and then locate the picture you downloaded from remove.bg.

Touch the image and add it to the platform.
Touch anywhere outside the picture and then touch the plus + sign 
.
Elect Photos at the lower part of your screen.
Search for background and then picture a nice background. For instance, if you want a white door behind you, like we see in most pictures these days, search for door and select from the free pictures available.
Position the background behind if it does not move behind automatically. Go to position and select backwards.
That way the background moves behind the picture.
